History
Chiropractors have stood the test of time.
Some people trace the practice of chiropractic methods back to the age of Hippocrates, where records indicate that he believed in aligning the spine to promote overall individual health. Modern chiropractic schools, however, date back to 1985 where Dr. Daniel Palmer used spinal adjustment to treat hearing loss. A man had lost his hearing many years before, and realigning a vertebrae restored some of what he had lost. That’s how the story is usually told, at lest.
Today, Dr. Palmer’s theories are still a part of chiropractic care and teachings, but much of his contributions have been improved and combined with modern insights into medical practice.
While the medical community is sometimes critical of chiropractors, the relief and joy that our care has brought to our patients tells us that Dr. Palmer’s path is still worthwhile.
