Subluxation
Misaligned vertebrae, or subluxation, is a serious issue.
In the chiropractic field, we use subluxation as the formal term for the misalignment of a vertebrae. Subluxations have a variety of causes, from repeat strain over time to something more acutely traumatic like a car accident or a fall.
Regardless of the cause, subluxation can lead to the following:
- Excess pressure on your nerves, blood vessels, and surround soft tissue.
- An interruption of natural pathways between the brain and the rest of your body.
- A ripple effect of pain and injury as your body attempts to compensate with other joints and muscle groups.
If subluxation is not treated, the discs and surrounding regions of your spin may begin to generate. The longer this condition is left untreated, the more challenging it is to treat because muscles, nerves, and bones, will adjust to the new shape.
