Dr. Anthony P. Chappie, D.C.
Dr. Anthony Chappie, D.C., started out as a history major at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, following in the footsteps of his father, who was a high school teacher for a number of years. Dr. Chappie obtained a Bachelors in Science degree in Education, Magna Cum Laude in 1992. While at IUP, Dr. Chappie played rugby until he seriously injured his back. His coach was a Chiropractor whose treatment modalities brought him back to competitive health. With such an impressive outcome, Dr. Chappie dramatically altered his future profession and decided to become a Chiropractor. He attended Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport, Iowa on a full rugby scholarship where he received his Doctorate in Chiropractic in 1997.
Dr. Chappie has extensive knowledge and experience treating patients with sports- related injuries, as well as motor vehicle accidents. In an effort to help with patients involved in motor vehicle accidents, Dr. Chappie has received his certification in Whiplash and Brain Injury Traumatology through the Spine Research Institute of San Diego. He also specializes in treating complicated spinal injuries, including disc bulges, herniations and stenosis.
Dr. Chappie possesses a strong athletic background and demonstrates an exceptional ability to deal with people leading active lifestyles. He is current on the latest healing therapies and treatments, and consistently attends continuing education seminars to ensure that he is providing you with the most optimal care possible from any provider.
As well as being the owner of Greentree Chiropractic & Rehab, Dr. Chappie is the owner and an Advanced Kettlebell Class trainer at Pittsburgh Kettlebell & Performance, located at 1002 Greentree Road, which is actually across the street from his Chiropractic office. He is a USAKL certified kettlebell instructor under Coach Nico Rithner of the Colorado Kettlebell Club. Dr. Chappie is also the head coach and strength and conditioning coach of the Pittsburgh Angels Women’s Rugby Club – the Division II 2012 National Championship team.
When Dr. Chappie and his wife Gina decided to open Greentree Chiropractic & Rehab back in 2006, they both had one goal in mind – help as many patients they could in educating everyone on living a healthy and active lifestyle. They live a natural lifestyle and always try to choose organic products, exercise regularly and balance family life with their Chiropractic practice, Greentree Chiropractic & Rehab and their gym, Pittsburgh Kettlebell & Performance.
In Dr. Chappie’s personal life, he still remains very active by working out daily, training at Pittsburgh Kettlebell & Performance and coaching Rugby. But his favorite pastime is spending time with his lovely wife, Gina, & their furry children, Bronx (Rottweiler) & Bruno (Yorkshire Terrier)!
